Tri-Metal Bearings
King XP Series bearings are engineered for the most demanding racing applications where maximum load capacity and fatigue strength are required. They feature a traditional tri-metal construction consisting of a high-strength steel backing, a copper-lead intermediate layer, and a precision lead-tin-copper overlay.
XP Series bearings are ideal for high cylinder pressure applications including turbocharged, supercharged, nitrous, and extreme naturally aspirated race engines. They are commonly used in Pro Mod, Top Sportsman, high-horsepower drag racing, marine, and endurance racing engines where maximum bearing strength is critical.
Traditional rod and main bearing construction is based upon a three layer configuration composed of a steel backing, a copper-lead layer and a very thin overlay of babbitt material only .0005 - .0008 thick.
Unlike conventional tri-metal bearings, King XP Series bearings utilize proprietary pMax Black technology, which incorporates a strengthened copper-lead alloy and a surface-hardened overlay with increased copper content. This combination significantly improves fatigue resistance and load-carrying capacity while maintaining excellent conformability and seizure resistance.
Very popular among the Blown Alcohol and Nitro teams.
Note:
- Rod Bearing part numbers with the Letter N in them are Narrowed.
- The Letter D has the Dowel hole
- X = Extra Oil Clearance
- .001 .010 .020 .030 are Undersize
